You guys, it's time we learned more about our new crush, "rookie" actor and True Beauty star Hwang In Yeop. The 29-year-old star has already finished his mandatory military service and reportedly entered the modeling industry in 2017 + made his acting debut in 2018! He is currently signed under KeyEast Entertainment.
In a November 2020 interview, Hwang In Yeop shared: "I'd like to become 'an actor that people continuously look forward to.' I don't think there's any phrase that could make me happier than that." In the Korean remake of the Zac Efron movie 18 Again, Hong Dae Young is on the brink of a divorce and is constantly ignored by his twin children. He is *magically* transformed back to his adorbs 18-year-old self (Lee Do Hyun) and starts attending the high school where his kids are studying, to keep an eye on them.
Hwang In Yeop plays the role of Goo Ja Sung, a student + basketball player of Serim High School who seems like a "bully" the first time we are introduced to him. Later in the show, he becomes the love interest of Dae Young's daughter Hong Si Ah (Noh Jung Eui). Watch his character's ~confession scene~ below:
5. True Beauty (2020)

This much-awaited drama based on a webtoon dropped this December! It's about a girl (Moon Ga Young) who hides her "true appearance" with makeup and the boy (Cha Eun Woo) who's one of the few people who knows what she truly looks like. Hwang In Yeop plays the second lead "rebel" Han Seojun, described as someone who has "a chiseled body and a wild quality to him, but contrary to his appearance, he's a soft person inside." In a recent interview, Hwang In Yeop said: "Seo Joon is very stylish, and he looks rough and rebellious on the outside, but he's actually a very warm-hearted and considerate guy. He's a character that you just can't hate, and he shows new and diverse charms depending on whom he's interacting with." He added that he "got a motorcycle license in real life" and "took action classes" to prepare for the role. Wow, that's what we call dedication!

The Netflix series will also star Ji Chang Wook and Choi Seung Eun! The Sound Of Magic is based on the popular Naver webtoon Annarasumanara and it "circles around Yun Ai, a girl who grew up faster than she imagined. She meets a magician named Lee Eul, who's the opposite of her—he's an adult who wants to stop time and remain as a child."

7. Why Oh Soo Jae?
According to Soompi, Hwang In Yeop is "currently in talks" for the lead role named Gong Chan and might star opposite actress Seo Hyun Jin, who will play Oh Soo Jae. The drama is about "a woman who makes the wrong choice in life and lives for the wrong kind of success. After she falls in love with a certain young man, she changes the direction of her life and learns to properly love herself."
